Day 1:

 

After a relaxing breakfast in Tromsø, check out of your hotel and you will have the morning free to explore the city. In the afternoon, board the ferry for a 1.5 hour ferry ride to Fissnes, located just across the Gisundet strait from Senja island.

 

Upon arrival in Fissnes, you'll be transferred to your charming hotel in the small village of Mefjord Brygge on the island's north coast. The transfer will take appx. 1.5 hours. Mefjord Brygge is not only a quaint village, but a great base for travellers to enjoy activities such as hiking, wildlife watching, ice climbing, and more. 

 

Sit back and relax at your hotel or cabin while the friendly staff prepares dinner onsite, which is served between 7 -8 pm (beverages not included). You will also have the opportunity to meet with the guides and get more information about the program.

 

If the skies are clear, there is also the opportunity to see the amazing Northern Lights. The rest of the evening is at leisure and you can choose to relax in your cabin, book a sauna or take a walk around the small village.

 

 

Day 2:

 

After enjoying breakfast at your hotel, you will embark on a unique 3 hour Arctic Boat Safari to take in the local wildlife and marine landscape. The boat has a comfortable seating area inside, and for outside, we will provide warm flotation suits.

 

In the afternoon, return to the hotel with time to relax until lunch, which will be served between 2-3pm. If you are still feeling energized after lunch, consider winter hiking, snowshoeing, exploring Senja's magnificent island landscape or relaxing with a sauna and hot tub.

 

A traditional Norwegian dinner will be served at your hotel in the early evening (beverages not included). After dinner, enjoy an interesting lecture to learn more about the Northern Lights and Arctic wildlife. Your evening will end with a unique Northern Lights Safari. Put on your snow shoes & get ready for a Northern Lights Safari - driving to Senja’s most iconic locations and scenic viewpoints to see Arctic nature.

 

Day 3:

 

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel , before embarking the activity of your choice. The day is at leisure, but you can reconnect with your local guide and take part in a husky safari (extra cost) or other guided/self-guided activities, such as hiking, snowshoeing, island sightseeing.  

 

Return to the hotel in the afternoon and enjoy free time. Dinner (beverages extra) will be served at the hotel restaurant followed by a guided snow shoe hike in search of the Northern Lights. Our guides will share some old local stories, show interesting places and introduce you to traditions linked with north-Norwegian culture. If weather permits, we will end the tour with a bonfire and perhaps spot the Northern Lights once again. This tour can also be arranged during the daytime if required. In case of lack of snow in early season, we would instead go for a hike.

 

Day 4:

 

After breakfast, check out of your hotel and prepare for the drive back to Finnsnes. You will be provided with a lunch-to-go. You will then transfer via ferry to Tromsø (Not included. Tickets are purchased onboard). You also have the option of taking a Fjord Cruise with Hurtigruten from Finnsnes to Tromsø (additional cost). We can assist with booking your cruise and if required arrange an earlier departure from Finnsnes with the 8.45 am departure, arrival in Tromsø at 10.00am.

 

After disembarking in Tromsø, transfer to the airport to begin your departure journey. Although it's time to say goodbye to Norway, the memories from your trip will surely stay with you forever!
