DAY 1 – AIRPORT MUNICH – AUGSBURG – NÖRDLINGEN

Start your trip through south-western Germany from Airport Munich and make your first stop in Augsburg. See the magnificent buildings in the historical city centre like the Renaissance town hall with the Golden Hall and the cathedral with its 12th-century stained-glass windows. Continue to Nördlingen and check-in for a 2-night-stay. Located in the middle of the Romantic Road the town still has an almost complete medieval scape with walls and battlements that can be walked all the way round. The historical old town is dominated by the late Gothic church of St. George. (approx. 135 km)

DAY 2 – WÜRZBURG & ROTHENBURG ALONG ROMANTIC ROAD

Würzburg is an ancient Episcopal seat and a vibrant university town with a baroque, distinctly southern feel – with vineyards along the river Main. Visit there the baroque Residence Palace which has now been designated a UNESCO World Heritage site. A walk around in Rothenburg is like a journey down the centuries. Its proud town hall, lofty towers and stout town walls, its churches and patrician houses bear witness to its history. With its half-timbered buildings and imposing fortifications the townscape is still much as it was in the Middle Ages. (approx. 290 km)

DAY 3 – GERMANY’S FAIRYTALE CASTLE

Drive south along the Romantic Road to Füssen and visit there the most famous Neuschwanstein Castle, built for King Ludwig II between 1869 and 1886 on a rugged cliff. The magnificent alpine backdrop is straight out of a picture-book, with lush green meadows and dark forests. Follow the German Alpine Road to the Island town of Lindau on Lake Constance and continue along the lake to Donaueschingen in the Black Forest, where the river Danube has its source. DAY 4 – SOUTHERN BLACK FOREST & FREIBURG

 The attractive old quarter of Freiburg has twisting lanes, pretty courtyards, little streams, traditional restaurants and quaint bars. Towering over everything is the Minster with its unique spire. Lake Titisee is one of the most famous lakes in Europe, formed by the Feldberg glacier. You can explore the lake and the remarkable Black Forest scenery on an enchanting cruise boat. Alternative you can spend this day in the Europa-Park leisure and entertainment park – the biggest and most attractive one in Germany. (approx. 140 km)

DAY 5 – LAKE CONSTANCE & ISLAND MAINAU

Constance – the largest town on Lake Constance is not just popular with tourists but also has much of historical interest. In 1417 the Council of Constance elected Martin V as Pope, the first and only time the election of a new Pope has taken place north of the Alps. Featuring colourful displays of Mediterranean and exotic flowers, Mainau Island is a true paradise for horticulturalists and nature lovers, with a new theme every year. Continue your trip north-bound and check-in at your hotel in Herrenberg, next to Stuttgart. (approx. 215 km)

​DAY 6 – NORTHERN BLACK FOREST & BADEN-BADEN

On this day on your journey enjoy the Northern Black Forest with the Black Forest Scenic Route via Freudenstadt to Baden-Baden – don’t miss to taste the famous Black Forest Cake and maybe a typical cuckoo clock is the right souvenir for you. In Baden-Baden the Romans were the first to appreciate and make use of the hot thermal springs. Situated beneath the market square and the Friedrich thermal baths, the ruins of the Roman baths are now a museum of ancient spa culture. (approx. 230 km)

DAY 7 – MUNICH – MUNICH AIRPORT

Finish your journey with drive to Munich and individual leisure time in the old-town. With its famous onion domes, the 15th century Gothic Church of Our Lady is Munich’s unmistakable landmark. Not far away, at Marienplatz, the carillon plays three times a day. And just a stone’s throw from here is probably the most famous tavern in the world, the Hofbräuhaus beer hall. Drive back to Munich Airport and have a save flight home (approx. 250 km)
