Tour Itinerary

This new 125 miles touring route between London and Bristol encompasses one of the first Great Roads commissioned by the Kings of England. This route can easily be explored by car, train or enjoy a journey by water or bike.

  • DAY 1 – Arrive at Bristol Airport

    and check in to your hotel. Transfer to the Berkeley Castle for a visit, where the Berkeley family’s ancestors have lived there since the 12th century. See superb tapestries, silverware, paintings from the 16th-20th centuries, fine furniture and a unique spider’s web ceiling. Great for families as well, with beautiful gardens and a Butterfly House. In the evening enjoy award winning dining at the Lido Bristol Restaurant and Spa. Overnight in Bristol.

  • DAY 2 and 3 – Next you're on your way to Bath for your 2 nights' stay.

    Choose from a wide variety of tours here, such as a Photo Tour, designed for you to learn more of Bath’s fascinating history and to capture some outstanding photos, whether you use a phone camera or a Leica. Or enjoy a Secret Garden Tour visiting some of the beautiful gardens hidden behind Bath’s private houses and hotels. Visit the Jane Austen Centre and enjoy a cream tea in the Regency Tea Rooms or a private hot air balloon flight over Bristol, Bath and beyond, with photos and champagne.

  • DAY 4 – Onwards to Cotswold’s to the quaint village of Malmesbury

    for 2 nights, England’s oldest borough with its stunning 12th century Abbey. This charming historic village is home to music, culture, history and art festivals. Here you will stay in England’s oldest hotel, The Old Bell Hotel. In the evening take a troll over to The Stag and Hounds Pub for some live music and ale.

  • DAY 5 – After breakfast, head out to Lacock

    to meet your private local guide for a tour of this picturesque village made up of 700-year-old houses. When the train line bypassed the village in the mid-19th century, this once major wool making centre was preserved in time. Listen to stories of the many TV and film productions that have been filmed here, such as Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice and Cranford, Downton Abbey and Harry Potter. In the evening head over for a fantastic meal at the The Sign of the Angel Restaurant, a Rosette awarded 15th Century coaching inn.

  • DAY 6 – Next on to Windsor.

    If you are driving perhaps consider stopping at Highclere Castle, the real-life Downtown Abbey, where the famous TV series was filmed. Once you arrive in Windsor, check in to your accommodations and meet with your local guide for a visit of the renowned Windsor Castle, the world’s oldest and largest inhabited castle. Perhaps catch a play later at the Windsor Royal Theatre. 

  • DAY 7, 8 – Finally on to London,

    your last stop on this magical journey. Discover the iconic sights of England’s largest city with some of our optional tours, such as Buckingham Palace, Tower of London or a City Cruise. After your 2nd night depart for the airport for your onward journey.
